New Cup Coordinator
admin on January 1st, 2010

Hello darters! Most of you know me, some of you don’t. My name is Joe Mathias. I play tournaments and leagues in the Northend, primarily Lynnwood and Everett. Over the last year or so, Karen Kringle has asked me to cover a few challenge cups. I did and had a blast doing it too!

Recently, she asked if I could step in as Cup Coordinator, giving her a much needed break after many years of faithful service. Needless to say, I was excited and accepted the responsibility on the spot.

So, from here on in, I will be handling the following Challenge Cups: The Novice Cup, The Women’s Cup, The Hot Shot Cup, and the Mixed Memorial Cup.

I thoroughly enjoy the battles that come with covering these challenge cups, and I’ve seen some real doozies. My duty with these cups include making sure they’re scheduled for play, confirm that everyone participating is a legal player, witness the match from start to finish and ensure everything goes smoothly, get a picture of the winning team, and author an article for the next Medallion.

If you’ve never participated in a Challenge Cup and would like to, ask your Dart Coordinator to be put on a suitable team representing that dart house. I highly recommend giving it a shot, the competition can be fun and exciting.

If you have a team and would like to challenge a specific cup, send me a quick email at [email protected], or call Tamra Easley if you’re in the Southend to get on the list. Go to the Medallion Web site at www.themedallion.net, click on Challenge Cups for details on Cup Holders, Challengers, rules and specifications.

I hope to see you out there challenging your peers to some dart competition. Feel free to approach me and introduce yourself. Good luck, have fun, and shoot well.
