Dawson’s pulled in a whopping 29 teams for their $1,000 Payout shoot in December and neither Kenny, Dawson’s owner, who was shooting, nor Sean, Dawson’s Coordinator even blinked an eye at the huge response to their advertised tournament. Apparently, Dawson’s is accustomed to having this kind of success each month.
Dawson’s is right smack dab in the middle of their hey day of darts and enjoys a large following both for tournaments and for leagues. Sean does a great job running the darts here and everybody appreciates his hard work. He shows up on time and makes a real effort to find any singles who want to shoot, a partner. Plus, he won’t play in the tourney, ensuring a quickly and accurately run event.
Trina works the bar and is looking as sexy as ever with her new hairdo, all wild and wind blown. In fact, Dawson’s is full of gorgeous women. Not just the bar staff, but the players too – all the beautiful dart players hang out at Dawson’s! Gorgeous or not, everyone is super friendly and fun-loving. It’s like a great big party where everybody sorta snags a piece of real estate to call their own, but keeps giving it away to move around and mingle.
Kenny’s lil’ puppy wanted to mingle, that’s for sure. Forgot that little guy’s name, but what a cutie. Told Kenny he oughta turn him loose and he’ll be the bar’s pup. He didn’t seem too keen on the idea.
Brenda, Ron and Lindy, Jeff, Crystal, Jenny, Brigette, Stacy and everybody, oh yeah, there was a dart tournament going on somewhere in the room I heard. Apparently Jeff and Sean, his son, along with around sixty or so other dart players were kickin’ ass on the boards. Or not. Either way, the huge dart party raged on through the night. Whether still in the tournament or not, there was a lot of love in the room, so folks stuck around and partied.
Dawson’s is about good food, great service, and a fun group of people. Dawson’s should be on your “To-Do” list. Come to think of it, they’re running regular shoots every Wednesday and Saturday right now, all $300 Addeds based on 12 teams, 21 Point.
You guys might want to consider playing leagues out of Dawson’s next season. Stop in and talk to the bartender, she’ll steer ya in the right direction. If Sean or Kenny’s in the house, bonus! Talk to those guys. Don’t worry, the place is crawling with serious dart players, they speaka ze dart, ekeh?
Kenny brings in killer live music Thursday through Sunday night with no cover charge. That’s my idea of a great night out!
Watch for their next $1,000 Added on the third Saturday at Dawson’s Bar and Grill; 5443 South Tacoma Way, Tacoma (253) 476-1421.
