NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS; LYNNWOOD, WA
1st Annual Snowflake Tournament

By Kelly Gries

On Saturday April 19th, None of Your Business held their very first Snowflake Tournament!

Bar co-owner, Laurie, named this ladies shoot in honor of the wacky weather on this day. Eight women braved snow, sleet, hail and even some sunshine to play darts and hang out with other women. Two of the women hadn’t even played darts in years but they needed a day out too, so out they came. It was great to see old friends!

Since there were only four teams, we opted to do a Round Robin, which a couple of the younger players had never heard of and the veteran players had not played in years. We cranked up the juke box and had a ton of fun. Ann and Dani hadn’t had a mother-daughter day in forever and they had a wonderful time.

For those of you who haven’t played in a Round Robin, I will give you the low down. Each team plays each team - three games each; 501, Cricket and 501 - then you tell whomever is running the tournament how many games you won. The team with the most wins, wins! After the second round it was anyone’s guess as to who would win since almost everyone had three wins. Then Donna and Laurie shot out of the gate and took all three games in their final match to win the tournament. Ann and Dani took 2nd Place, while Sarah and Mary took 3rd. That left myself and my poor partner, Laurie, to take 4th place, however I think we had more fun than anyone and got to know each other a little better!

We plan to hold the Snowflake Tournament on the 3rd Saturday of every April and I really expect a lot more women to come out. Hopefully, Mother Nature won’t be so nasty to us next time.

On May 18th we are holding The Man’s Shoot and I challenge the men to make a better showing than the women did. Since there is no player point max and a 25 point team max, I expect a lot of the higher rated players to come. Watching and learning from them is always a great time and I am forever amazed at their accuracy and tactics.

See y’all next time!
