Kickin’ Cancer’s Butt in Lynnwood

Kickin’ Cancer’s Butt in Lynnwood

By Ty Hughes
It was wall to wall dart players, new and old, last month at the Just Left Pub & Grill, Lynnwood.
Renee Yepez, with lots of help, pulled off an extremely successful fundraiser for Traci Lamb-Ewing, recently diagnosed with cancer.
“Thanks everyone that came out and supported our friend, Traci Lamb-Ewing. The turn out was amazing!”
Renee was ‘truly humbled’ at the display of giving and the outpouring of love for Traci.

Medalist Fall league players pointed their vehicles toward the DoubleTree Hotel in Seatac, WA January 24-26, 2014 hoping to have a storybook ending to another successful league season.
Early on Friday, teams gathered in mass, filling the expertly designed tournament room, packed with Medalist dartboards from end to end. A fifty-foot display of fresh plaques lined up, end to end, seemed to taunt the players.

Player Profile: Chris Persons

Player Profile: Chris Persons

(Kent, Washington)
You guys all know Chris Persons… or do you? Sure, you see him around at all the dart tournaments, both north and south, but do you really know the man behind the darts?
Did you know that he used to live in Las Vegas, and that he has a 9-year old daughter? Did you know that he doesn’t even wear boxers or briefs? You really don’t know Chris like you thought you did, so sit right back and soak in the essence that is Chris Persons.
And the next time you see Chris hanging around at the tournament, give him a big high five, and tell him you caught his piece in the Medallion.

Mama Shooter says “Quit Yer Bitchin’”

Mama Shooter says “Quit Yer Bitchin’”

Okay folks, let’s call a spade a spade. There is a new dart game in town, and it’s called DARTSLIVE.
It seems a lot of people really like the DARTSLIVE boards, which have the ability to play people from all over the world, and the new provider also features many new opportunities for the dart player, especially for those high-rated players.
That’s all fine and dandy, but I, for one, am sick and frikken tired of hearing people bitch about Medalist. The fact is, Medalist has been in our backyard for over 30 years! They have given thousands of people a place to hang out, be social and win some money playing a game we love.

Shades of Pete Gilbert

Losing a family member will always be one of the toughest ordeals we can face as humans. One minute they’re alive and talking, sharing memories and opinions, and the next minute, they’re gone for good.
As they say, it’s better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all.
Friends and family gathered at the Cactus Moon in Everett for a memorial event to honor one of our fallen comrades, Pete Gilbert.

For months leading up to her birthday Friday, January 17, R Bar’s Dart Coordinator, Marie Vilsack, was growing more and more excited for the big day.
It was going to be the biggest and best birthday party ever! And everyone was invited to attend.
Not only would there be darts (duh), but it was planned as a Prom theme, and she strongly encouraged everyone to get out those slacks and dresses, and come out for a great time with friends.

Inspiring Players Cup match

By Ty Hughes
On December 28, Just Left Pub’s Todd Jordan, Mike Williams, Ish Hendricks, and Josh Kinnard drove from Lynnwood to Tacoma to challenge the Home Plate for their 44-Point Players Cup. They were psyched and ready to go when they walked in the doors.
