Honey Bee BBQ jumps in with $1000 Payout
By Ty Hughes

The Tacoma-based dart powerhouse known as Honey Bee BBQ, formerly BBQ Petes, continues to draw the players in huge numbers despite a lengthy closing, ownership change and consequent reopening.
It was May 5th, better known as Cinco De Mayo, when carloads of Seattle-based players made the trek to Tacoma, filling the bar and mingling with an impressive show of support from local area darters. The evening was billed as a $1,000 Payout with 24 teams. Manuel Garza, recently transitioned from Happy Days, with the help of Jeff Christian, signed up 20 teams from all over the Puget Sound region. It was game on!
Honey Bee featured $2.50 well drinks and $6 pitchers all night long for the players and, believe me when I tell you, the bartenders did not have much in the way of downtime that night. They were running! The service is top-notch and the food is something to write home about at Honey Bees BBQ.
All your friends were comfortably nestled into the bar and taking turns at the dart boards. The party was well underway as familiar faces continued to roll in throughout the night to spend some quality time with their buddies.
It was one of two $1,000 shoots at Honey Bees scheduled for the month of May and it was a great success all the way around. Manny seems happy to have found a new home after the unfortunate series of events leading to the demise of Happy Days dart program; and Jeff was more than appreciative to get some help at the helm.
