Shea, from the infamous FM radio station, KQBZ 100.7 “The Buzz”,
brought his broadcast crew to the 13th Ave Pub and Eatery for a wild night
of frolic and fun.
Six beautiful young ladies donned their bikinis and prepared for a night
of oil wrestling excitement as the night got underway. BJ Shea and his
crew, Topshelf and Double R, are a group of guys who host the radio show
“The BJ Shea Experience” on The Buzz during the day and brought
in a huge crowd for this event, along with the great advertising efforts
of Dawn and Wayne, owners of 13th Ave Pub. As the station boasts, it is
“radio for guys” and this event was definitely geared towards
their listening audience.
The stage was set, tarps covered the dance floor, a video camera was in
place to broadcast on the big screen television for those who couldn’t
get up-close-and-personal front row seating and the baby wading pool was
plastered with “The Buzz” bumper stickers. The Buzz Babes
came pouring out of the ladies room and the crowd went wild. Hooting,
hollering and whistling, you could surely tell they liked what they saw!
Double R had the distinct pleasure of pouring baby oil all over the contestants
as they entered the wading pool, and the matches began. The action was
fierce; you could tell these gals were serious about winning and having
a good time showing off for the guys too.
BJ emceed the event and joked around with the ladies in his typical manly
fashion. We have to give a hand to the 13th Ave staff as well. As busy
as the bar had been, drinks made it out in a timely manner, and the waitstaff
was very pleasant and helpful. Things were kept very well under control
and everyone seemed to be enjoying the atmosphere and the show.
As things wound down, the Buzz gave away a cool car stereo system to one
lucky winner, and the crowd voted on their favorite Buzz gal to be the
winner of the wrestling matches. The applause and whistling was so loud
we couldn’t hear the name of the young lady who won, but in our
opinion they all gave it their best and they’re all winners for
putting on such a great show.
Be sure to check the ad for the 13th Ave Pub and Eatery each month for
other great events such as this one. You will be sorry if you miss the
next one, this was a ton of fun, guys!
