WA
Ladies
Only
This
special day for moms was celebrated in true style
Pickled Onion owner, Sean
Erskine and his faithful dart coordinator, Brian DeRohn, opened the doors
to moms and daughters and the like on Saturday, May 7th, in celebration
of Mothers Day.
Sean kicked in a guaranteed $350 to the pot, giving the ladies a lucrative
opportunity to mark their special day. Though there were only 10 teams
playing, the mood was light and festive. Many positive comments were made
with regard to owner, Sean Erskine, and they weren’t all from his
best girl, Jennifer, who recently gave birth to their first son.
“He’s really nice and caring toward his players, no matter
what they’re rated, high or low,” is what we kept hearing
repeatedly referring to Sean.
Jennifer had specially prepared gift baskets with good smelling bath and
kitchen goodies to be given away throughout the day. Every so often, Brian
would make an announcement over the mic - the woman with the youngest
child, or whomever was wearing pictured undies or who had the most children
with the same father, etc; these were some of those taking home baskets
on that Mother’s Day.
While the ladies battled it out in the main dart area at the Pickled Onion,
the boys played some light-hearted games on the two remaining boards across
the way, and the afternoon casually drifted onward. It was a pleasant
day of darts and everyone had a nice time with friends and such.
TC and Selina conquered the field, not losing a single match all day,
taking first place and bragging rights. They each put an extra $120 in
their pockets. Denise and Becky gave them a run for their money and ended
up landing in the runner’s up spot, splitting $130 between them.
In third place, Dawna and Beth shot excellent darts and split $60 cash.
Not bad for a days work, eh? Congratulations ladies and Happy Mother’s
Day to you all.
