Masters end season 37
By Mike Bates
The 37th season of the Mens Masters Leagues is now on the books.
Whos Our Captain finished in the top spot, taking home the $1,500 first prize. Jimmy Damore became the Interim Captain after Bob Castillos work hours changed. Rik Scherbing, Kix Alcala and Steve Charette rounded out the top squad.
Kix was named the MVP of Division A League, and the Top Gun award went to David Fatum for the third consecutive season.
Troy Vending and Dart Master, Inc. jointly sponsor the Masters Leagues, which prides itself on being the top-rated league in the country. Twenty-three different league players have been named to the NDAs Team USA. League players have also landed five NDA Masters Singles titles, along with several major championships.
This season, the total payout for the Masters A and B Divisions, plus the Banquet Tournament, was nearly $10,000. Not bad for a 10-week league! Over its 15-year run, the Masters League has paid out nearly $300,000.
FYI The first-place prize for season No. 38 will be raised to $2,000. See you at the Masters Draft at Sixshooters on Monday, May 22.
