Sixshooters Saturday Extravagana
by Mike Bates

Once is a fluke, twice is a trend, three's a charm, so four and five should be awesome!
What I am talking about, of course, is Sixshooters new Saturday Night Extravaganza. I call it that because the turnouts have been unbelievable, averaging over 54 players per night in January.
You say, "No way," I say, "Hey, hey." Or is it,"Hay, hay?" The staff had to be yelling "May Day" the first Saturday, when 58 shooters from across the Valley of the Sun showed to play.
You say, "Mike, why? What happened?" I say, "I have no clue." Just kidding, of course I have a clue. When have I not known something or if I didn't, I made it up?
First, our great friends from the East Valley have been heading over looking for the place to play. Second, the folks at Sixshooters have made everyone feel right at home, with ice cold beer in a tub and with a lovely young lady running tabs and handing out beers like a submarine with a screen door.
(Yes, I know that doesn't make sense, just wanted to see if you were paying attention). You say, "Mike, tabs at a beer tub? No way!" Again, I say, "Hey, Hey, yes way!" A new innovation for Sixshooters are small pitchers of soda and beer.
"Mike," you say, "Sixshooters has never had small pitchers, you're lying." I am not, they really do have them. "Mike," you say, "Let me get this straight, first they set up a new large dart room, then they run Saturday tournaments with lovely ladies serving drinks, food, etc, then add a beer tub that lets you run tabs, then drink specials, and the East Valley players show up, sounds like a dart players dream come true!"
"Wait a minute, your lying again, 58 shooters at a weekly tournament, is this April Fools?" No, this is only February and you're the fool if you don't head over on Saturday nights.
"Mike," you say, "I'm no fool, but I'm not that good, can I compete there?" I say, "Yes, you can." The night we had 58, two Masters Captains got first (Jimmy Damore and Tom McCartney), but Paul Parosky and Alvanita Dubose finished second. They shot excellent and beat many good, if not great teams. If you play good, you have a shot. Plus, they try to spread out the payouts.
"Spread out the payouts," you say, "Mike, no way." I say, "Stop it with the rhyming crap and head out the door to 35th Avenue and Peoria to the top dart room in the State." See you there!
