New Big Daddys to hold Grand Opening
Big Daddys Grand Opening Again!
If you didnt already hear or get by the new location, oh I gave it away... Yes Big Daddys has a new location. It is right around the corner from the old location on 7th and Dunlap. It is just up the street on Cave Creek Rd.
Big Daddys has been a fixture since it opened in 1986. As they move to the new location, Dave and Toby celebrate their 21st year in business and their 20th Anniversary.
Dave has been a friend on mine for the entire 21 years and our girls have grown up playing in the same softball leagues and circles. Dave probably doesnt know this, but I was there the first day they opened, as I played for a softball team he eventually sponsored.
And sponsor is a key word, as Big Daddys has been a part of the Masters league since day one. Dave played in the Masters league and wasnt too bad of a player.
Toby has always been a part of the ladies leagues, and in 1997, they brought home an NDA championship. Whether it is a softball team, a dart team or a pool team, Big Daddys is there to support.
In his spare time, Dave referees wrestling, maybe because he used to wrestle at ASU, which could be why he is one of the biggest ASU fans around. But sports is a big part of Big Daddys you wont see the cooking channel on the screens at the bar. It is sports all day long.
Big Daddys also does a golf tournament every year to help support his daughter Stephanies club softball team. I had the pleasure to coach his other daughter Courtney for a short period.
The bar is built around sports ,and like the commercial says, Dave and Toby arent just the owners, but customers too. They arent the invisible owners you see at some places. From early in the morning until late at night one of them is usually tending to business.
Stop in and check out the new location and say hi to Dave and Toby. You guys are great and I wish you the best on your fresh start in your new location.
