American Dart League News

In spite of a “downward trend” in the troubled tavern market, the American Dart League, the United States only national league program, continues to expand across the country.

Our biggest success story is the Express League. This 3-person league program was added to the ADA portfolio just over seven years ago. Today, over 50 percent of our members are now enrolled in it. Last year alone it experienced a 37 percent increase over the previous year!

I’m not surprised. With only eight games (three Cricket Triples, two Cricket Doubles and three ‘01 Singles) this three-person league attracts the darter who cannot commit to a long night of league play. The average time to complete this format is 1.5 hours. Another attraction is the length of the sessions, only eight weeks.

We think the success of the Express League demonstrates one of the most important aspects of the ADA; we are committed to an on-going dialogue between all participants in the organization-management, staff, franchise owners, sponsors, members and supporters. We listen to what is being said and we address any issue that arises.

This has resulted in a great exchange of ideas and the implementation of innovative programs. The Express League being one of the most visible.
