Mixed
mix at Six
By Mike Bates
It was basically a mixed,
mixed tournament at Sixshooters - you sign up with a partner of
the opposite sex and you both draw to see who you would play with.
Some new ideas work, some do not. This one worked awesome. Thirty-two
players (16 ladies and 16 guys) showed up ready to see what it was all
about. The draw was done and the teams were formed. Lots of top guys and
lots of top ladies; who would win was anyone’s bet.
To make the tournament even better, more was money added. The best thing
was that only one couple that signed up together drew each other. This
meant playing with people you may not know or may have never played with
before.
I was lucky enough to play with Juanita Bodershatz and she played excellently.
We worked well together and did what had to be done. When it was over,
we had won the top prize.
JR and the gang did great! It was cool to see everyone out early on a
Saturday afternoon for some good darts.
