FOURS AND FEWER FLOCK TO THE ONION
By Ty Hughes
Always on the cutting edge of darts, Sean and the Pickled Onion Pub in Renton held a super-fun tournament last month targeting those of us that are rating-challenged.
It was a whole entire dart shoot just for us 4 and Unders, and let me tell ya, they received an incredible amount of support from the local players for this one. Twenty-three teams, all rating-challenged just like me, came out and partied the day away. Hey, just because they may be lower rated than all of you studs out there, doesn’t mean they don’t know how to party, right? Everybody knows that 4 and Unders are more fun than you can even handle! And this theory was proven once again last month when nearly fifty players gathered for a great day of darts!
Harry poured out a backpack full of dart supplies onto the table and serviced a bunch of customers, helping them get stocked up on supplies, including flights, tips, shafts, barrels, etc.
The unflappable Terry conducted the tourney in his typical level-headed fashion. Even though the room was filled with low-rated players, doesn’t mean these guys are green either. The fact is, many of these players have a substantial amount of experience around the game, and by the same token, they tend not to be pushovers at the boards! Trust me on this.
Sean, Pickled Onion’s owner-type guy, was pedaling alcohol from behind the bar. He was in a good mood, and the players appreciated his low-rated tourney offering that day. It was such a big success, Sean vowed to do it again in the future. How about June 12th? That’s right, you have another chance to shoot this tournament yourself coming up on Saturday, June 12 at 2pm. Come out and join in the fun with your dart friends. Have some lunch too – their food is pretty darn good here. But mostly it’s just a great dart bar, filled with amazing personalities and friendly folks.
See their ad in this paper for details and info on all the dart shoots coming to Pickled Onion in June. Should be a good time, don’t hesitate!
