4×7 Cup blowout

By Scott Kringle

Wah Long’s Chad Marlow, Ryan Coleman, Kal Gunter and Anita Taoipu transported themselves up to Ringers Pub Sunday, June 6. The plan was to come home with the 4×7 Cup later that same day.

Ringers’ Brian Smith, Brian Arganti, Dustin Curtis and Brett Brophy, Ringer’s owner partied long and hard the night before when they hosted a big dart shoot. Brian Smith pulled an all-nighter and was ready to defend his 4×7 Cup when he walked into the bar that day.

Ringer’s is currently the holder to the Limited Cup, The 4×7 Cup and is getting ready to challenge for the Novice Cup. Brett is actively putting forth quality teams to challenge all the cups.

This particular 4×7 match was very one-sided from the start. Ringers was holding an 11-3 lead after fourteen games and Wah Long was struggling with their outs.

It took Ringers 22 games to complete the match. They maintained ownership of the 4×7 Cup with a convincing win 17 to 5 win. This was Ringer’s fifth time defending the 4×7 Cup, and have become accustomed to having a sizable lead in most of the matches they’ve played.

Wah Long just couldn’t find their game and Ringer’s was bangin’ – just one of those matches that got out of hand when one team is on fire and the other struggles. One person watching the match was overheard saying, “Wah Long players are a lot better than how they played today”.

These challenge cups are very demanding and the teams that own them always seem to step up their games.  Congratulations to Ringers!
