The good life at the MVPub

By Ty Hughes

The Puget Sound’s newest dart house is enjoying a fantastic response from local dart fans. The MVPub in Kenmore, located just off the beaten path, is not only attracting some of the Northend’s more prolific dart shooters, they’ve also had excellent success in gathering handfuls of first-timers.

Bob LeMaster, MVPub’s Dart Coordinator, prides himself on his ability to engage and enlist “regular” ol’ patrons of the bar. The MVPub is Kenmore’s only dedicated darting location, often filling the room with brand-spankin’ newbies to the game, something the sport sorely needs.

Bob, along with bar owners, Loni and Chuck, who also throw darts, have built a solid base of players right in the heart of Kenmore.

Since opening their doors just a few short months ago, the MVPub has managed to ignite a frenzy for darts in their four-board dart room set apart from the rest of the bustling bar activity. With it’s own bar, the dart room is beautiful with rich wood floors and accents. Not a big room, Bob can comfortably host 12-15 teams, especially since the door to the outdoor smoking area is only ten feet from the boards, and provides some relief for the overflow.

Once or twice per month, Bob invites everyone over to his place for a rousing Doubles Bring tournament where the house adds $300 Guaranteed money to the prize payout.

On Saturday, August 13, Tom and Mica teamed up to forge their way into 4th Place. A well-tanned Warren took a real shine to his partner Ashley, who had never played darts before, and took her all the way to 3rd Place and sixty bucks cash to split between them.

Time got away from them and the bar already made last call, so Mike and Loren split for 1st Place with Justin and a beautifully pregnant Sarah. They divvied up the remaining $320 and expressed their gratitude to Bob for running a great tourney. Each of the newly hooked dart players, except for Bob’s new partner Genivieve, vowed to return for the next big monthly payout. She’s expected to return at some point though, that girl’s got way too much to say to stay away for long.

Bob and Loni say, “Watch for some big dart promotions coming this fall to the All-New MVPub.” They’re in the process of dreaming up some monster ideas aimed at building their reputation among the dart community, so keep your eyes open for these innovations.

Meanwhile, find yourself on the doorstep of the MVPub before September 13 and get your team registered to play out of the fabulous MVPub for the Fall season.

Besides darts, they feature live music weekends, amazing food and drink specials, plus all the football games coming up this season showing on a multitude of TVs around the bar. Eric hosts a fun karaoke show every Wednesday night from 9pm to close. Apparently the acoustics are excellent. You be the judge.

There’s so much going on over at the MVPub, Kenmore’s only dedicated dart house for Medalist Dart Leagues. Come on out and check in for side-splitting good times any night of the week. See their ad here for details on upcoming shoots and other events.
