Shotzes Puts Up Two Grand

By Ty Hughes

Shotze’s in Everett is back in the game! It’s been years since Shotze’s was in the dart business, however, recently they’ve jumped back into the ring with a new focus on darts.

And to use the old cliché, they definitely put their money where their mouth is. Last month, Shotze’s owner Darryl, along with his posse, including Adrian, Steve, and their dart coordinator, Dustin hosted a real dart party! Advertised as a whopping $2,000 payout w/50 teams, and being the new kid on the block, everyone was just a little curious about what kind of response they’d get when the big day rolled around.

Right on the heels of a certain neighbor’s gigantic turnout with the same payout, many had hoped to easily draw those fifty teams necessary to pay out the two grand. What they actually did pull for the day was 22 teams. That’s forty-four bodies that haven’t walked through the doors at Shotze’s in a long while, if at all. The day was a huge success, and Darryl knew it. He was overheard saying, “This is a lot of dart players that will get the word out about Shotze’s darts”.

For a brand new house to break out with a 22-team shoot for their very first one, is incredible! Dart players are hungry for change. They prey on it. Competition is good for the sport, the business, and community.

Dustin has become quite efficient on the charts and running a tournament. When he stepped away for a minute, Adrian had his back. I couldn’t believe Adrian was so comfortable with both the charts and the microphone. Musta been a DJ at some point or somethin’.

Darryl and staff had the place all decked out, cleaned, and ready to rock early on the day of the shoot. Shotze’s is huge! Big on pool, there are a bunch of tables. The bar sits at the back of the room, in the middle, surrounded by barstools and happy people. They have their regular five dart boards to the far left, within Shotze’s own dedicated throwing area. Very nice and comfortable. For this special day, they had four more boards set up on the upper level in the back.

“I had no idea that whole area was even there!” That’s exactly what Ken said when he and James walked in after the trip from Tacoma.

Husman was over there, warming up with his nephew, Jeff, who regularly kicks my ass in leagues down south on a weekly basis. Yes, they ended up taking the top prize later that day, after an amazing display on the boards. I think they pocketed like $500 for their efforts. John won the big one at Cactus the month before too. He’s on a roll! Way to go guys!

The whole point of all this of course is to recognize Shotze’s Rack n Roll as a viable dart house. So, get in there sometime and play in one of their dart shoots every Tuesday night at 10:30pm. It’s a $400 Added w/12 teams, or $300 w/8, 18 point Bring. Dollar beers, $3 Touchdowns and $5 pitchers for all you dart players and your friends! Check out their ad here for more.

Punch in 9602 Evergreen Way, Everett and you’ll be there in no time. See ya at Shotze’s!
