Hot Shots and a Cup
By Scott Kringle
The R Bar finally got the chance to defend the Hot Shot Cup out of their own bar on June 13th.
Ringer’s team of Brett Brophy, Dustin Curtis, Nate Flesch and Skylar Liles walked into R-Bar with the A team. They had just pulled this team together days before the shoot.
R Bar came back with the same players that defended the cup against Flights’ team last month, Roland Pfulmann, Jolene Harrell, Brian Teschendort, and Stephanie Teschendorf.
Ringers had a new guy to cup matches. Nate Flesch got his first chance to play for a cup. He said he never did shoot his best darts. “I could have shot a lot better”.
After 19 games R Bar held a slim 10-9 lead. But, with this cup it only takes one person to step up and draw their team into a winning streak. Just about then, R Bar went on a five-to -one run pulling away from Ringers and getting some much needed breathing room.
Ringers team was shooting well, but R Bar has been through this before. Today was not going to be he day they’d relinquish the cup. R-Bar went on to win the match 17-12.
They’re a strong team that really shot very well.
“We will be back,” one Ringers player said on his way out the front door.
