R Bar filled to the rafters

The R Bar tends to fill up real fast on dart night. Terrance, R Bar Coordinator, is usually pulling in around 24 teams on a regular basis for their $1100 Payout shoots. Just the week prior to my visit on November 13, he filled up a whopping 32 team chart chock full.

I’m telling ya, there’s something in the water here. Course maybe it’s the vodka, not the water. Anyway, the players have made R Bar one of their regular weekend stops on their dart tournament travels. And this applies even to several Tacoma-Kent based teams as well. They are not afraid to travel to great lengths for a good tournament.

And now there is even more incentive to find yourself at the R Bar on a Friday night. Guess who just moved in next door at the bowling alley. Nope! You’ll never guess… HOOTERS!

Sweet, now we can bowl, choke of chicken wings and watch the bouncing boobies all at the same time – America! What a country!

That’s exactly what brought Robert McClendon and Robert Brown (who ironically works at McClendon’s) out to the R Bar. Chicken wings and boobies are all the rage, mix in a pair of bowling shoes and you’ve got a virtual porn outfit!

Darryl Rieux was on hand after a bit of time away from the boards. He looks healthy, having put on thirty pounds, he said. With Pam at his side, he truly looked happy to be playing darts again.

Josh had ripped open his finger at work just hours earlier. Do you think he went to the ER to get stitched up? Yeah right. A little duct tape goes a long way in leiu of stitches.

Sam and Sean, plus several others were sporting R Bar’s new league shirts. Gorgeous! Coolest shirts I’ve seen yet. I guess they were pretty spendy though. Sean really knows how to treat his players well. They feel like they’re part of something that’s bigger than themselves at the R Bar. It’s a web of friendships and dart rivalries old and new.

I have a feeling that Sam is building many new dart rivalries as we speak. He’s brand new to the game and is making a big splash out there. He’s gonna be one to contend with.
