Next stop, Bowlero Lanes

By Ty Hughes
Woot-woot! There’s a train a-comin’! And it’s barreling right through Bowlero Lanes right now. Better known as A-Train, Aaron Gregg is THE MAN, when you’re talking about Bowlero darts. (Get it? See what I did there with the train thing?)
Actually, I can’t really give A-Train all the credit, though he is an animal when it comes to darts. The rest of y’all are just amateurs next to this guy, lemme tellya. Pretty sure he eats darts for breakfast, and probably his “Fourth Meal” too. No, but you’ve also got to give full props to his most-awesome sidekick, Katie Holmes. Knowing A-Train, she probably does most of the work anyway. Just kidding. Seriously though.
Together, these two have single-handedly transformed the landscape of darts at Bowlero Lanes. They bring an energy to the game that the players definitely resonate with. And they know how to run a good tournament that the players can appreciate. Believe me, A-Train has played them all. Ask him if he’s ever been to any particular bar, and pick the most obscure bar in the furthest neighborhood. He’s been there, beat ’em all at darts, stole all their women, and moved on.
A-Train has no problem whatsoever driving two hours to play in a tournament in BFE. The guy’s a self-professed dart maniac, absolutely loves the game!
But back to Katie. Sweetest thing ever, just ask her gigantic boy-toy, Darrell Titus. Who, by the way, has recently made quite a name for himself in the dart community alongside the A-Train himself.
So, Katie. She shares the boys’ passion for the game, and knows all the tricks. She and/or A-Train will put you on their tournament charts for just five bucks every Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday night. They prefer the Bring tournaments here, and they do it well with a 21 point max. See their ad here for all the gory details, times, etc.
Of course, they’re well-known for their big ol’ money shoot on the fourth Saturday of each month, where they pay out a whopping $750 to the players when at least 16 teams show up. Make it a point to get out there for their May tourney on the 28th.
Meanwhile, I popped in on a random Tuesday in the middle of April sometime, and A-Train was putting the wraps on an after-league tourney featuring 17 teams. The establishment added a generous $320 to make a $470 payout. Willie and Tim split with Doug and Moody, each pocketing a cool hund and a half or more.
Everybody’s super cool at Bowlero, and they attract some some familiar faces to play. Oh yeah, and don’t forget, they’ve got 150% Added Quick 8’s running throughout the tournaments, so everyone’s got a chance to win!
Stop in sometime this month. Bowlero Lanes is located at 3852, Steilacoom Blvd., Lakewood, WA 98499, phone (253) 584-0212.
