Attitude adjustment at Monte Carlo
By Ty Hughes
Good times prevail at the Monte Carlo in Kent! Step inside the Monte Carlo on any given night of the week, and you just never know who you’re gonna run into. Fellow dart players, pool players, friends, neighbors, all like to spend some of their free time within these cozy confines at some point or another.
Allow us to make a suggestion as to the best time to visit the Monte Carlo. How about Saturday nights when things are really hoppin’ and the true character of the people come out? Besides, Monte Carlo’s dart coordinator, Ken Lee is inviting dart players to sign up for an exciting night of Parity Draw competition at the boards around 8pm or so. By 8:30pm, they’re off and running.
It’s a 150% added shoot and they typically get a good handful of players, but they could always use more. So, you’re invited to come out, bring your darts, sign up and meet and play with some neat, new people. Make some new friends here. Everybody is super cool and easy going. I went earlier in the month and had a great time with some very nice folks. While I personally prefer Parity Draws, because you always get to play with new folks and my partners are usually better than me, Ken says they’ll be starting up some Bring Partner shoots soon at the Monte Carlo. Keep your eyes peeled for these if you prefer the bring tournaments.
The Monte Carlo is great about attracting brand new players to the game. Maybe the Parity’s have something to do with that. Ken is great about taking the time to get the new players rated and fully explains the format, etc. He leaves the strategy to the players’ partners to teach along the way.
If you’re looking for a new dart home and a recession buster night, try the Monte Carlo! They’ve got .99 cent pounders all day, everyday! Plus, $1.50 domestic bottles, and $4.00 pitchers. Can’t beat that anywhere in town!
Plan on eating dinner here too. They’ve got the most amazing fried chicken! Everybody’s talkin’ about the chicken at the Monte Carlo ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú it’s to die for apparently. If you’re in the mood for something other than fried chicken, they’ve also got French Dips, Cheeseburger and chips for $3.50, and a variety of killer daily specials for just two bucks!
The music system is loud and proud, the atmosphere is friendly and so are the people. Pulltabs, pool tables, big screens, tons of parking, great food and drink specials, not to mention, the fun dart tournaments and people ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú what more could you possibly be looking for?
Come on out to the Monte Carlo every Saturday night. And don’t forget your darts, tournament starts at 8pm.
