Medalist 2010 World Championships and 2010 Southwest Zone Finals
Texas Station Gambling Hall and Hotel hosts the Medalist
2010 World Championships and 2010 Southwest Zone Finals
Las Vegas, NV, July 22-24, 2010: Texas Station Gambling Hall and Hotel played host to a sold out World Championships event in Las Vegas, NV. It was a world-class event, with players from the U.S., Japan, China, Taiwan, Denmark, and Spain among the attendees. Medalist presented a truly unique event (even by Medalist’s standards) by simultaneously running the World Championships and their Southwest Zone Finals event concurrently. Texas Station’s 60-lane bowling center was converted into Medalist’s version of a 60-lane “dart center” for the three-day event.
Over 4,000 entries competed for $222,165 in cash and hardware.
The weekend included the culmination of the America Pride Cup, a competition comprised of all-star teams from various countries around the world competing for pride and a place in Pride Cup history. With their names engraved on the massive five-foot, 100 lb. trophy, they also earn the right to defend their title at the 2011 World Championships.
Team USA (Paul Lim, Scotty Burnett, and Scot Kingdon) edged out Japan East (Shigeyuki Tanaka, Masataka Ito, Yuta Miyamoto) in a classic battle to take the inaugural America Pride Cup title for 2010.
