All-new Jimmy T’s does darts
By Ty Hughes
There’s a new kid in town folks, and Jimmy T’s on Kent’s East Hill is excited about bringing darts back to a familiar location – but this time, with a brand new focus and plan.
The Moonraker (Ad-Lib) has been transformed into the all-new Jimmy T’s Sportsbar and Grill. Co-owner, Jim English, and his partner, Terry Stewart, have made some incredible changes to the old bar. Most notably and probably most important is that they no longer allow any rif-raf in the place. No drugs, no violence, just good clean fun in an upbeat atmosphere condusive to making positive memories that you can take with you when you leave.
Ah, but you’ll be back! Jimmy T’s has four dart boards in their own little alcove off the main bar. It’s all wide open format here, so I hope you players don’t mind some rockin’ beats issued by their pro DJ and distributed by one of the best sound systems in town!
Yeah, didn’t think so. The dance floor is humongous, much like the entire place, 7,000 sf of pure goodness. The place just goes on and on. And there’s so much to do; five pool tables, darts, video games, including Big Buck Hunter, Golden Tee Golf, even pinball! They’ve got an entire bar dedicated to pull tabs, 20 beers on tap, and a great kitchen to create those culinary masterpieces just for you!
On Friday, August 22, they hosted their first dart tourney and league sign up shoot. Dani is the girl in charge of building the program. She was working there and offered, since she knows the players, the game, and the how to go about it all.
She couldn’t imagine working in a place without a dart program. She’s worked at Cloud 9, the R Bar, and now Jimmy T’s. A sweetheart, Dani is going to do wonders for their player base here.
She’ll be running another dart shoot on Friday, September 18, and you’re all expected to come up and see her and the new bar in town. It’ll be a $500 Added with 18 teams. Come out and support her, folks. She’s working hard to make Jimmy T’s a positive place to play darts. Plus, they’ve got a whole staff that supports the dart players through and through.
She’s still working on her chart-running skills, so go easy on her and help out whenever necessary.
Jimmy T’s promises to be another fantastic sportsbar to add to our list of potential dart homes, get in there!
