Monte Carlo at Cactus Moon

It was almost shameful to be indoors on Saturday, May 8 watching a dart match, but sure as shit, Monte Carlo’s Keaty Kutter, Brad Wical, Branna Chamberlain and Lori Hanford drove up to Everett with their coordinator Ken in tow. They were about to take on the Novice Cup Champions, a Cactus Moon team consisting of George and Michelle Barnes, Jamie Neilson, and Suzanne Manville.

Once the introductions were over, they got right down to business. Monte Carlo’s Branna hit a Low Ton giving Brad a shot at the out. He takes game one.

In game two, it was the husband and wife team, George and Michelle, who both hit Low Tons and set up Jamie for a 17 out and a chance to tie it up. She nailed it!

They split the next several games. Brad and Jamie were hitting big outs for their teams and the match continued back and forth. Neither team let up, both were throwing tough darts. Cactus Moon got some help from Suzzane and George’s outs and took the lead 5-3.

Monte Carlo’s Keaty took out game nine to make it 5-4, advantage Cactus Moon.

Cactus turns up the heat, and takes the next four games to extend their lead 9-4. But Monte Carlo was not about to throw in the towel – they took the next three games to get to within two, and traded off over the next two.

We saw Low Tons from Suzanne and Jamie in game 19. Finally, George was left with 82 points and took it out like the old pro that he is with a Bull, S16, S16 and a huge fist pump to win the game and the match, 11-8. Way to go, Cactus Moon!
