Rock out with your flights out
By Ty Hughes
Ray and Mary are up to somethin’ at Flights and I think it bears a gentle reminder to slow and easy growth.
These two are doing great things at Flights by keeping track of all the players and the leagues, tournaments, etc. Not to mention showing up and running the shoots on a regular basis. Which, if you’ve ever done it, ain’t easy folks. We really ought to give kudos to those Coordinators out there that work their butts off so we can enjoy a stress-free night at the bar.
They had nine teams for their regular Saturday night $300 Added shootout. The players were still just wrapping things up when, Bidor took to the stage and really got the gathering crowd going. They were doing some old classic rock from my high school era; Van Halen, War Pigs, Zeppelin. By he ages of all the long-haired dudes in there, I knew I was in the right crowd. The band was missing a lead singer at the time and invited anybody to jump on the mic and crank out some lyrics if you knew them.
One or two guys tried. One sounded pretty good, but I actually just preferred the acoustic versions by these guys. Powerful and moving.
Anyway, Flights is doing Saturday tourneys and rockin’ out with some live and local bands. The stage is pretty good-sized, and elevated.
And the crowd, is diverse and commited to quality entertainment, just like Flights is to their lineup each month. Don’t be afraid to come in and blend with the regulars here. They won’t bite you most likely.. well, Mary might actually bite you once, but it shouldn’t hurt too much.
Mark and Terri gave Dad and Ann a run for the money in the final match, but decided to split the pot and head out before the chaos became fever pitch. Ah, fever pitch, just the way I like it!
Come on over and play with the friendly folks at Flights. See ya there!
