Cricketmania synonymous with Draft Choice
By Ty Hughes
The Draft Choice locals were none too happy about those Southenders coming in and beating them at their own game. It seems Willie and Autumn Walker and Linda Heatherly made quite an impression on some of the Draft Choice players, leaving them stunned and staring at the board wondering what just happened. Hey! All in the name of competition, I say. Heck with ‘em if they can’t keep up with the games elite!
Of course dart coordinator, Norm Harrington, kept his usual humorous side in tact, not fazed in the least. He’s seen his share of top-rated players in his day. He knows it’s just about outsmarting and out-throwing his opponent, no matter who they are.
Norm put up 19 teams for battle on Saturday, March 14th for their monthly $500 Added Cricketmania Shoot. Erik and Tony sat toward the back chillin’, waitin’ for their turn at the board. Jim was hangin’ out with sisters, Ruth and Janet. He was married to somebody in the family.
Even though it’s a minor trek to the Draft Choice, they always get a good pack of dedicated players for their shoots. They’ve got like eight boards along one wall, it’s a big dart house, to say the least. They’ve been running regular Saturday night dart shoots when there’s no special dart tournament scheduled. Even Sundays are dart-filled at the Draft Choice during League break.
Draft Choice is a perfect location to get involved in league play if you’ve ever considered it. There are a ton of seasoned players to “take you under their wing” and show you the ropes in an uplifting and non-intrusive way.
Stop in sometime and order up some amazing food served at the Draft Choice. The food alone will have you reconsidering your choices.
And be sure to give Norm a poke from his favorite Newspaper Editor, tell him you caught their ad in the greatest dart newspaper going, the Medallion!
