Business as usual at the Channel Marker

By Ty Hughes

Our one and only, ultra-lovable Traci Lamb-Ewing and her faithful gang gathered ’round the dartboards on October 4th for the first of two Little Big Dawg shoots for the month.

She signed up thirteen teams, all squeezing under the 14 point team cap, and tossed in an additional $300 to sweeten the pot in appreciation for their commitment to the Channel Marker that night. If you haven’t been out to the Channel Marker yet, well then, let me just tell you?¢‚Ǩ¬¶ um, why not? I’m tellin’ ya, this place is the f’shiznit of dart houses, restaurants, bars, etc. And, it even comes complete with that fresh ocean breeze wafting gently from our very own Puget Sound. Yep, the Channel Marker is just a stone’s throw from the water’s edge in Edmonds. Jan and Brent Minster have created an oasis of fun for everyone’s enjoyment within the four walls of their pride and joy.

Six dart boards, pool tables, video games, a full-service pull tab bar, friendly service and amazing food from their high-end kitchen. Jan says, “We’re like a restaurant that just happens to have a bar too”. And what a restaurant! Wow, you’ve got to be sure to come in early, well before the dart shoots begin, to sit back, relax and enjoy some of that incredible Channel Marker cuisine!

So anyway, back to the darts. Traci manages a growing dart program at the Channel Marker with an exuberant group of shooters. Everybody is good friends and gracious folks. Never do they have a problem with outta line personalities or boisterous contemptuaries?¢‚Ǩ¬¶ whatever that means.

Matt and Cobi were actually out and about doing darts again ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú the first time for a long time. They have recently become brand new parents to a lovely little baby to call their own. Congratulations Matt and Cobi! If you ever need a babysitter, I’m sure you could call any one of your dart-throwin’ buddies?¢‚Ǩ¬¶ just don’t, okay?

Terrence and his cute little sidekick, Kris, came all the way out from Renton to see what makes the Channel Marker so very cool. And I’m pretty sure they’ll be back! Terrence is the new dart coordinator for the R Bar and probably wanted to see how a real pro runs her dart shoots. Just teasin’, Terrence! Don’t get your panties all in a bunch, Jeez!

Jackie was in da house! Ain’t seen the likes of her for awhile. She’s cuttin’ loose and takin’ names, so watch out.

I have no idea who actually won the dart tournament cuz it was past my bedtime and I had a date with my pillow. But if you stop in and join the ranks of Little Big Dawg shooters at the Channel Marker, you could very well stay up past your bedtime and stuff those empty pockets with some of Jan’s money!

Take a minute right now and visit their ad, it’s right around here somewhere, and pencil in your next visit to the Channel Marker. They’ve got lots of stuff going on and I know Traci would love to see your smiling face. Tell her you saw it in the Medallion so somebody out there thinks that people might be reading this drivel.

Thanks and drink responsibly. See ya on the other side.
