Chalk one up for the Scorecard
By Ty Hughes
You say you’ve never been to the Scorecard at Northgate?! Why not?
The Scorecard is a cozy little bar with a unique layout. Essentially, there are three different rooms to enjoy; the pool room, next to the kitchen; the bar room where they feature karaoke; or the dart room with five Medalist Avanti’s spread across the wall. Scorecard people travel from one room to the other and mix and mingle freely.
It’s a good crowd here, and Friday night really heats up in the dart room. Chris has been running the Friday night 13 & Under tournaments for Bruce, also a longtime dart player and owner of the Scorecard.
They usually get anywhere from 8 to 13 teams for their Friday night flings, which suits Chris just fine. He’s got a handful of regulars that prefer the atmosphere for darts at Scorecard.
Last we popped in, Tony and Jess were steeped in a heated rivalry match with Casey and Frank, who firmly occupied the Driver’s Seat. Casey being the G.I. Joe nut that he is, had his arm covered in a G.I. Joe stamp tattoo! Now that’s dedication.
Next time you’re just sitting around, wondering what to do on a Friday night, get over to the Scorecard at 543 Northgate Way in Seattle by 9:00pm. Don’t forget your darts, you’re gonna need them. The Scorecard will kick in another $350 cash if’n they get 12 teams out for the tournament. Grab your buddies and make it happen! The Scorecard is a sweet hangout, and everybody’s super cool.
