Big night at Cactus Moon

By Ty Hughes

The crowds gathered at Cactus Moon December 5th for an evening of bittersweet celebration. It was an important night of remembrance and closure for many of Corey Linville’s good friends. Even his mom and dad, Sheri and Jim, brother Troy and sister Trisha came over from Eastern Washington for the opportunity to meet some of Corey’s closest friends.
Stories of Corey’s influence were discussed openly, and the impact of his passing was made evident on those that loved him most ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú his family and friends.
Joy and Cindi were taking sign ups for the dart tournament and the lower bar area was completely full of happy-go-lucky folks. Corey made it clear that he just wanted everyone to enjoy a big party in memory of his life, so that’s exactly what they did. Before the tournament got started, someone suggested a moment of silence in memoriam to Corey, followed by a nice toast to his life and friendship. And just like that, the party resumed and Corey’s memory took a special place in everyone’s hearts and minds forever. Sheri, Jim, Troy and Trisha settled in and enjoyed the company, sharing memories, feeling as if among friends.
Meanwhile, Jennifer Hanft, or Lil’ Jen as we all know her, had set up shop right alongside the incomparable Gary Tinder of GT Darts. They each had some amazing wares to unload for a good cause. Lil’ Jen has spent the entire year creating her incredible occupational figurines. They stand about a foot tall, she pours the molds and paints the little guys so perfectly ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú a great gift for anyone who appreciates excellent craftsmanship. Plus, she’s expanded her inventory and selection, not to mention her skills.
Then there’s GT. What more can I say? The man, the icon. Look around. Most of what you see was created by GT himself. True story.
So, there’s GT, the born-again dart operator, peddling his dart supplies and accessories to many of the players that he helped to bring into the sport in the first place. You see, Sean, of Harvest Darts, used to hold his Annual Dart Sale at Cactus right before Christmas for many, many years. But now, GT Darts holds the route and it’s GT behind the controls. Support him like he’s always supported you.
Great times at Cactus Moon as usual. Here’s to Corey ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú we’ll miss ya buddy!
The very next day, Corey’s best friend and roommate, Todd Jordan, held a big memorial get together at his and Corey’s house, which reportedly went over very well.
