7/Under Saturdays at Pickled Onion
By Ty Hughes
This ain’t your Grandma’s 7 & Under Shoot! No sirree-bob. The Pickled Onion Pub’s 7 & Under Shoot every Saturday is one of those that requires you to be on top of your game, lest ye be ousted.
Sean’s designed his 7 & Under tourney with quality in mind. Typically, they’ll pull anywhere from 14 to 15 teams for this one, regardless of the weather outside. Seattleite’s are accustomed to clouds and rain well into the summer months, when everyone else in the world is outside sunning themselves, we’re indoors playing darts and drinkin’ beer baby! Gotta love it!
This one is a 7-point individual max, and 11-point team max, so these are no slouches when it comes to darts. This crowd is quite savvy when it comes to strategy and outs.
Last month, we caught the final match when Stacy and Moody, yet undefeated, occupied the driver’s seat, ready to take on Jay and Kelly for the championship. After everyone was done smoking, visiting the restroom, and refilling their glasses, the match finally got going, much to Moody’s relief.
Kelly opens with a Low Ton, and Stacy quickly followed suit with a Low Ton of her own. Jay pounds a 113 out to take game one.
Moody nails a 7-count to start game two, but Kelly quickly matches his darts with another 7-count.
Surprised by their success, both Jay and Kelly agreed that “this is just one of those days when they couldn’t miss”.
Stacy and Moody held on and powered forward to take game 5 and push it to a sixth and final game. But when it came down to the very last Bullseye for the win, Kelly stepped up and buried it! Way to go Jay and Kelly on an incredible day on the boards!
The Pickled Onion is a fantastic place to engage in the sport of pub darts. The competition is stiff (just the way we like it), and so are the drinks (just the way we like it). Besides, owners Sean and Jennifer are two of the coolest people we know. They are both actively involved in darts and everything going on under their roof. And there’s plenty going on too!
Friday night Parity Draw dart shoots will continue to run through July. This is a great opportunity for you dart players to get out and mix it up, play with somebody brand new, see what happens. Good times.
Join LaShawn Masaniai on Saturday, July 16 when she will host a Passion Party Shoot at the Pickled Onion. These are always a blast, and Sean will throw $500 into the pot if 22 teams sign up to play. Come get your sex on at LaShawn’s Passion Party Shoot! It’s a great way to spice up that stale relationship in a hurry. Come in early to get a good look at some of these fun and outrageous items available. For more details, please call the Pickled Onion Pub, and don’t be shy about it!
