Women’s Cup is darts at it’s best

Women’s Cup is darts at it’s best

By Ed Winkle
Defending the Women’s Cup for the Inn Sports Bar in December was Sandi, Jill, Ann, and Regina. They had set a goal of defending their championship for one last time together.
However the highly charged team from Dawson’s Bar and Grill; Kelly, Stacy, Tag, and Jen, had high hopes and expectations of defeating the Women’s Cup Champions on their home turf.

Limited Cup excitement

Limited Cup excitement

By Crisandra Deloney-Hinton
The defending Limited Cup team from Flights Pub took on a little different look December 17, 2011 when they invited Ringer’s Brian Smith, Karim Nowbar, Carlos Tamayo, and Travis Stocking to challenge their beloved Cup. Their usual third player, Dan Osborne was M.I.A. from the match, taking care of the LADIES in his life, yes, ladies plural, since just the night before, Dan and Christina were blessed with their little bundle of joy, Brooklyn.

Cosmic in Edmonds

Cosmic in Edmonds

By Ty Hughes
Deep in the heart of Edmonds, just a stone’s throw from the Edmonds to Kingston Ferry dock, sits one of the most fabulous restaurants in town. That’s right, it’s the Channel Marker Pub & Grill, also a well-known sports pub with pool, gaming, and darts, of course.
Owners, Brent and Jan Minster, are both dart enthusiasts, having played season after season for many years. Ever since taking over in their plush waterfront location, darts has been a major focus. Weekly and monthly tournament offerings draw a modest group of faithfuls. They always have room for more shooters on Fridays and Saturdays at the Channel Marker. Grab your buddies and come down a bit early for a killer dinner and some darts.

Experience bottomless Pied Piper hospitality

Experience bottomless Pied Piper hospitality

By Ty Hughes
Walk into the Pied Piper with a set of darts in your hands, and immediately you sense the love and respect from everybody in the room. Hold your head up. This is Base Camp – you’re among friends.
Pied Piper’s generous owners, Bobby and Teresa, along with the persistence and professionalism of Miles Norman have managed to build a dart house where there once was none. Actually, Bobby would argue this as a man with many, many years of avid darting experience over a long, illustrious career in the bar business. Formerly under an alternative league system, Pied Piper, since signing on with Medalist, I think I’m fair in saying that it’s been quite a ride for Bobby and the gang.

Hot Shot Cup foibles

Hot Shot Cup foibles

By Jennifer Wood
Well, it was a rocky start to say the least for the November Hot Shot Challenge Cup.
Dawson’s owned it and Cactus Moon was on their way down to take it away. The problem was, they were a whole week early. Both teams thought the cup was scheduled for a different day. So Cactus Moon shows up on Saturday, November 12 ready to play, but there was no Dawson’s team in sight.

The Log Cabin for Desirae’s Birthday

The Log Cabin for Desirae’s Birthday

By Ty Hughes
Saturday, December 10 was a special day for Desirae when she and friends celebrated her 30th birthday at the Log Cabin in Sumner.
Tim, Dart Coordinator, was happy to accommodate her group of friends, all of whom were dart players and chomping at the bit to play.
After several rounds of shots, and everybody was loose, Tim had the chart drawn up with six teams competing. Five dart boards lined up with stand-up tables opposite the throw lines, made for a cozy tournament.

Make Cactus Moon your home

Make Cactus Moon your home

By Ty Hughes
very month brings a plethora of exciting dart tournaments to the Northwest’s most elite dart house, the bar where everyone has played at some point or another, the Cactus Moon Saloon.
Teresa, Cactus Moon’s Coordinator, was gone that night. Probably in the Bahamas somewhere. So Mark Hinton was kind enough to step in and run their monthly $750 Added Trios shoot.

Pickled Onion dethroned in 4×7 Cup

By Jennifer Erskine November 19, 2011 was a cold Saturday afternoon when the Draft Choice 4×7 Cup team traveled to Renton’s Pickled Onion Pub in search of some competition. The goal was to defeat the current Cup holders and return home with the 4×7 Cup. The match started out with a bang when Tony from [...]

Latitude sparkles and shines

Latitude sparkles and shines

By Ty Hughes
Dart tournaments at Tacoma’s Latitude 84 are cranking along.
Especially strong at the Latitude are their monthly $300 Added Brings on the 3rd Saturday of each month. They’ve been getting a solid turnout for this one. Sese, Latitude 84’s Manager, and dart player, is happy about the fact that people are coming out to play. She explained that some negative comments had been keeping players at bay, but she was quick to assure me they were completely unfounded, even ridiculous.
