More than just winning

More than just winning

Lynnwood native Don Martin met Orlando Prieto in Las Vegas, Nevada at Medalist’s World Championships. Orlando shoots darts out of Whittier, California for Fear None Zone.
“Orlando gave me some great advice when playing in the C Singles Flight”, Don said. “’You’re not playing a friend in your neighborhood bar’, he told me, ‘you’re in Las Vegas – you point to win.’” “You had me!”, he said.

Wayne’s World comes to the aid of friends

Wayne’s World comes to the aid of friends

By Liz Bowers
In three short days, the Wayne’s World gang raised over $650.00 for Larry Mead and Tami Nored.
If you haven’t heard, Larry and Tami were in a serious car accident on September 30, 2011 that totalled their vehicle. Tami’s right arm was crushed by the airbag, which required surgery to reconstruct her wrist and hand. Larry fractured his ankle. Tough guy that he is, he’ll limp through it just fine.

Dart Players Prefer Dawson’s

Dart Players Prefer Dawson’s

By Ty Hughes
Twenty-two teams showed up on the doorstep to Dawson’s Bar & Grill on Saturday, October 15 for their monthly $1,000 Payout dart tournament.
What a great crowd these guys are. This is more of a party than a dart shoot. The celebration supercedes the actual dart tournament itself. Always a good time at Dawson’s whether you’re there to play darts or not.

Hot Shot battle cry heard around Tacoma

Hot Shot battle cry heard around Tacoma

By Jennifer Wood
It’s not often that two hometown teams get the opportunity to battle each other over a challenge cup. On Sunday, October 23 was highlighted by just such a challenge. Dawson’s Bar and Grill’s team of Allen, Stacy, Jenny, and our wonderful substitute, Marcus (we missed you Talya) welcomed Latitude 84’s team including Halo, JR, Choke, and Tim, looking for a weakness to exploit in the other team and steal the Hot Shot Cup away! It turned out to be a great day, featuring some serious dart competition.

North vs. South Civil Rivalry Cup a real challenge

North vs. South Civil Rivalry Cup a real challenge

By Ty Hughes
To say that the first ever North vs. South Civil Rivalry Cup got off to a rough start would be a gross understatement.
Widely considered to be a fantastic promotion among dart enthusiasts, the details of the challenge were yet unclear as the qualifiers were underway. Apparently we failed to communicate the minutia effectively pertaining to the North vs. South challenge, leaving everyone a bit perplexed by the concept. Most participating locations failed to promote from within, recruiting players for their in-house Singles Qualifier.

Player Profile: Lenna Shiley

Renton, WA
Lenna Shiley is one of darts’ true VIP’s. Rising through the ranks years ago to rest high atop the female shooters in the Medalist program, Lenna became one of the most feared shooters throughout the U.S.A. Her reputation precedes her in veteran dart circles. We are fortunate to have Lenna Shiley residing close to home here in Renton, WA. Recently, she’s found a new outlet to busy herself, and still managed to find a way to incorporate darts into her latest venture.
