Players Cup heads South!

By Scott Kringle

Saturday, March 19, two challenge cups were getting played at Cloud 9 in Kent. The Players Cup was being challenged on one side, while over yonder, the Hot Shot Cup players and supporters gathered for a rousing match.

This was the third time this year that the bar had two cups going on at the same time.

Tacoma’s Home Plate Tavern came ready to play for the Players Cup. Willy Walker, Jim Tederman, Darrell Titus, and Frank Linskey were jacked up about taking on Cloud 9’s Sam Resa, Dave Todd, Peter Clark, and Shawn Trotignon.

Home Plate not only came to play, they fully expected to take this cup back with them to Tacoma at the end of the day. It was going to be a tough challenge for Cloud 9 and they knew it.

Home Plate went up 10-5 after fifteen games. The guys went on a wild shooting frenzy, keeping Cloud 9’s defending cup holders at a 5-game distance all day long. The Kent boys just couldn’t close the gap and Home Plate went on the take the match 17-12, accomplishing exactly what they wanted to do, and took the cup back to Tacoma.

Meet our new Players Cup holders; Home Plate Tacoma! Word to the next challenger, prepare for a battle in Tacoma for one of the best cups going.
