It’s Ringer’s Players Cup
By Kristine Crawford
Saturday, July 14, found me heading to Ringer’s Pub in Mountlake Terrace, Washington to watch Todd Jordan, Brian Smith, Mike Virdell, and Brett Brophy defend their claim to the Players Cup.
Pied Piper’s Dave Todd, David Valantine, Anthony Smith, and Miles Norman traveled out of Kent north to represent Pied Piper in their battle for the Players Cup.
Ringers’ winning cork put them at an advantage and they took the first game. I couldn’t help but notice the next few were also taken by the team that went first.
Game 5, highest-rated Singles, showcased some heavy-hitting darts when Todd Jordan and Dave Todd kept White Horses coming! Ringer’s puts together their first back-to-back wins to get the score to 4-2, Ringer’s.
Pied Piper’s Miles Norman takes his Singles game to tie the score up at 4-4. Brian Smith takes his Singles game, kicking off a Ringer’s three-game winning streak. Score to be 8-5, Ringers.
Pied Piper’s Anthony Smith brought that string to an end, and began Pied Piper’s attempt to gain a lead.
After some more back and forth, Singles games have now come back around. With the score at 11-8, Ringer’s put together another three-game win streak. Miles takes his Singles game. Pied Piper wasn’t about to give up.
Now 15-10, Ringer’s Brian Smith starts and ends the last two games of the match. Final score Ringer’s 17, Pied Piper 10.
