Mixed Memorial Cup

By Joseph Mathias
May 31st brought on yet another Sunday afternoon battle for the Mixed Memorial Cup.
Once again Jimmy Jacks came ready to defend their cup with Dave Foster, Todd Jordan, Daniel Potts and Joanna Ortmann. They would defend their cup against Cloud 9′s own Larry Mead, Brad Imholt, Tia Russo and Amy Weller.
The match got started with a bang when Larry and Brad from Cloud 9 traded Hat Tricks to take a quick 2-0 lead, but Jimmy Jacks would fire right back, winning the next two Cricket games to tie it up at 2-2. After that, things slowed down, and the teams traded games for the next four games, but Cloud 9 would step it up again and extend their lead to 7-4.
Todd and Daniel wouldn’t hear of it and battled back and within one game; 7-6. Once again, Cloud 9 would pull away with a 6-1 run to make it 13-7 after 20 games. As always, Jimmy Jacks powered back, winning the next four out of five, to make it 14-11.
Cloud 9 had proven throughout the whole match that they were not going to leave without the trophy, winning the last three games to take the match and the cup with a 17-11 victory.
Everyone had fun, and it seems most of them had some history between them. It was a hard-fought battle the whole way. Congratulations to the Cloud 9 team on their winning the match and returning the Mixed Memorial Cup back to Cloud 9 in Kent.
