Flights takes Mixed Limited Cup
By Chari Albin
On Sunday, May 6th at high noon Flights’ Mixed Limited Cup team; Craig Arganti, Lloyd Agee, Cheryl Linn and Sarah Morris cruised over to the Cactus Moon to challenging them in a dart match with benefits.
As is typical with these Cups, the leader position toggled back and forth, from team to team throughout the afternoon. Until game 17 that is.
Cactus Moon’s team; Teresa Hestkind, Shannon Livingston, Brandon Weir and Steve Leigh looked at each other as if to say, “C’mon, let’s do this”, then promptly went up there and took three decisive games in a row from Flights. The score was now 11-8, Cactus Moon.
Flights came back with a vengeance, taking four games in a row to bring the score to 12-11, Flights, after the 23rd game. From then on, it was back and forth until the 28th game when the match was all tied up at 14 apiece.
Flights stepped up, took charge, and barreled through to crush the final three games, and snag a really cool trophy from its proud parents.
After defending their Cup for an amazing 15 months in a row, Cactus Moon finally gave up the ghost! Super kudos to that Cactus team for such an impressive achievement. Those of you that play for these Cups know how hard that is to do.
Big thanks to everyone that showed up to cheer on their teams. Way to go Flights on the Mixed Limited Cup upset. Next up for this Cup is the Inn Sports Bar and Grill – already scheduled for June 23, 2pm at Flights. See you there?
