Limited Cup grows legs

On Saturday, May 23rd, Dawson’s Kurtis Beach, Kelly Kahuli, Rob Fossett and Steve Kassuhn met up with Cactus Moon’s Justin Knapp, Jimmy Cooper, Shon Irving and Jeff Springer for the Limited Cup battle. This also happened to be Jeff’s first cup match.

The fireworks started almost immediately as Jeff took game one with a 108 out and Justin earned the rarely seen Black Hole graphic in game two. Cactus Moon had come to play!

The Cricket games were especially interesting, but aren’t they usually anyways? They were epic battles and fun to watch! Shon hit the first High Ton (160) in game 14. Jeff showed Justin, “See I can do it too!” when he hit a 3-In-The-Black in game 14, but it wasn’t enough to win the game. That was the second of three in a row by Dawson’s to tie the match 8-8, plus they took all three of the team 901 games. This was also their first lead of the match. Steve hit the first 9-mark (T18, T 18, T20) in game 19.

Though there was a double-header going on (Mixed Limited was also being played on the next board over), they created quite the ruckus, disturbing the peace and had entirely too much fun!

Jeff Hat Tricked out of game 29. Cactus had to pull a couple of rabbits from their collective hat, and pulled out four in a row, to go up 16-15, increasing the tension in game 32. Proving they were up to the challenge, they took out the final five games to uproot the Limited Cup from a very tough team and take it back to Everett with them.
