Dawsons returns with the Limited Cup

It seemed much too nice to be indoors, but worth it to witness such great darts played out between the Cloud 9 and Dawson’s Limited Cup teams.

Cloud 9’s Limited Cup defending champs, Rick Clark, Mike Hobbs, Dave Todd, and Richard Baker hosted the challenge against Dawson’s Bobby Cooks, Jeff Christian, Corey Goetz, and Snoop Spivey on Saturday, May 19.

Both teams had a strong showing, all players throwing excellent darts. Rick and Dave led off a number of the Cricket games with 9-counts, while Richard opened the final game with a Ton 80, and Mike finished off game ten with a 157 out, bringing Cloud 9 into an early lead.

Bobby mastered the Hat Tricks, while Corey, Jeff, and Snoop each shot consistent Low Tons, plus 6, 7, and 8-counts throughout the match, eventually bringing the score to 16-13, advantage visitors. This sturdy Cloud 9 team fought back to get the score within a game at 15-16. Richard’s 180-in wasn’t quite enough to keep Dawson’s from their 17th win. It was truly a match to be won by either team, fought with great darts and excellent sportsmanship – definitely worth an afternoon indoors.

Kudos to the Cloud 9 boys on their Limited Cup reign. Now in the capable hands of a formidable Dawsons team, the Limited Cup will be well-taken care of.
