Wah Long takes the Hot Shot Cup

Saturday, March 28th marked Dawsons’ Roger Bellarin, Karen Crain, Patricia Owings and Louise Jones encounter with Wah Long’s Erik Iwata, Harry Iwata, Butch Nice, and Christy Worley. In their first defense of the Hot Shot Cup, Louise started the fireworks show with a Shanghai (155) in game six.

The players enjoyed themselves immensely. Karen’s daughter Jenny joined her on this soggy afternoon providing a special brand of comic relief for the afternoon. Though the family action between Erik and his younger brother Harry was also very comical. Erik referred to him as McNarry.

Upon reaching the second series of the team 701 games, Wah Long had a 7-5 lead. Dawson’s closed the gap by taking two of three stacked games to cut the lead to one game; 8-7. Pat hit the first ‘big sexy’ (130) of the match in game 23 to put an end to Wah Long’s four game run; 14-8.
