Hot Shot Hipsters
By Scott Kringle
On Saturday, June 11, 2011 Cloud 9 once again invited the next challenging team out to try and take their beloved Hot Shot Cup. That team was Pickled Onion Pub, and Simon, Kevin, Jason, and Loree each shared a vision. The thought of walking into Cloud 9 and gently retrieving what was once theirs years ago.
Cloud 9 returned to the battle with the same winning shooters, Tia, Terry, Kenny, and Krystina. They knew exactly what was on the line that day. The Hot Shot Cup has been held tightly by Cloud 9 for months.
The match got off to a rocky start for the visitors, when the home team quickly took the first two games.
It takes a long time to play one of these cup matches. It is critical that the players stay focused and determined for the five solid hours necessary to challenge one of these cups. The Hot Shot Cup is always played at an extremely high intensity from the first dart thrown.
This match went five hours and fifteen minutes. It’s easy lose focus and become distracted when playing for such a long period of time. The Pickled Onion team were laser-focused, determined to bring Sean another Challenge Cup for his wall of victory.
Twenty-nine games later, team Pickled Onion did just that, beating Cloud 9 seventeen to twelve. Simon, Kevin, Jason, and Loree succeeded at what they came to do, and have become the new Hot Shot Cup Champions.
Keep your eye on this team, one of the best to represent the Hot Shot Cup in a very long time.
