4X7 CUP MOVES ALONG
By Tamra Easley
On Saturday, June 20th, Dawson’s Pat Farrell, Ron Clement, Ben Fricke and Alisa Cook shot for the 4×7 Cup against the visiting Cactus Moon team of Jeff Springer, Gil Bell, Matt Alejandro and Jim Hestkind. Dawson’s took this title from Cactus Moon back in October.
Cactus Moon’s intent to bring the 4×7 Cup back to Everett was apparent from the onset. Stealing games as early as game three where they took three in a row for an early 4-1 lead. The theft continued in game 11, where Gil hit a very sexy 124 to give Cactus a 7-4 lead.
Jeff opened up game 13 with the first T60 of the match to kick off the stacked games on a positive note, hoping to inspire his team to build their 8-4 lead. Dawson’s pulled a little thievery of their own to pull back within three games. Cactus took the next two stacked games to extend their lead out to 10-5.
Dawson’s energy shots kicked in during game 16, they took the next three games, utilizing the three game rule to their advantage and pulled the score back to 10-8.
Matt committed his own grand larceny to end game 22 with a 140 out to go up 13-9, Cactus Moon.
Ben proved to be a card carrying member of the Thieves Guild himself when he hit four bulls to steal game 27 right out from under Cactus, pulling back 15-12.
Cactus took game 29 to put themselves on the hill. They only needed one more game to execute their offing, which they did and took the 4×7 Cup back to the Cactus Moon!
