Limited Cup

By Tamra Easley

The November edition of the Limited Cup took place on Sunday, November 19, and was predicted to be the dart match of the weekend; it definitely lived up to expectations.

Spectators' team of Mike Hobbs, Chris Bennett, Brian Thayer and John Kerr hosted Jimmy Jacks' James Johnson Jr., Juan Ramos, Rick Hogue and Brian Smith.

The match started out in the competitive fashion that has become expected, with big darts and tight games. Brian Thayer shot the first three in the bed (18s) in game 7, then three in the black in game 12. Game 13 was a display of brilliance for Specs; Chris opened up with a Hat Trick, Mike followed suit, John cruised right along in their wake with his own, and Brian T. did his job as the anchor by shooting the fourth hat trick in a row for his team. Juan shot a high ton (157) in game 24. Mike shot a three in the bed (19s) in game 26, while Chris shot a three in the black in game 33.

As expected with a Master Out format, this makes the difference in most games, and the guys had a good time harassing each other over missed outs, especially on the doubles. From the onset, Jimmy Jacks' held the lead, but Specs fought back and tied the match 9-9 in game 18, then went on to take their first lead of the match in game 25. The teams traded games back and forth, and fittingly pushed the match out to game 33, which Brian Smith took out to uproot the Limited Cup and give it a brand new home at Jimmy Jacks'.

Congratulations, guys!
