Datascore says farewell to Summer Tour and Lisa DeGuire

Datascore wrapped up their Summer Tour last month at the Liquid Lime in Kirkland . It was a dark, rain-soaked day, better spent indoors playing the game we love so much. Throw in some cash, trophies and bragging rights and you've got a recipe for high-energy excitement.

Sixty four out of the original 130 Datascore Tour players qualified for the finals based on their point accumulation since July - 54 of them were in attendance on Saturday, November 4. Tour participants were awarded points for showing up, for placing and for their accomplishments at the boards. The top male and female point earners were Rob Morrison and Kim Pearson, who will be furnished with a trophy honoring their dedication.

The finals event was a $700 guaranteed added, free entry, parity draw. Dave Foster and his partner, Holly Rasley, sat comfortably in the driver's seat while waiting for James Johnson, Jr. and Kim Pearson to finish playing Dominic Gavino and Lisa DeGuire, determining their next opponents. After an impressive battle and some amazing DeGuire darts, Lisa and Dominic advanced into the final match.

Dave Foster was his usual amazing self in the final match, with plenty of clutch darts from Holly. But Lisa and Dominic played them extremely tough, taking them to the final game and losing by one dart. Awesome finale to another great show of support from those faithful Datascore players.

Now, it didn't seem a coincidence that Lisa was on fire throughout the finals. This tournament gathering also marked her departure from the Datascore group after five incredible years of service. Lisa is one of the most appreciated and visible dart players on the Eastside and her regular involvement will be missed. However, she has no intention of disappearing altogether, by any means. Lisa will stay in the area and maintain all her friendships through a continued career in darts. Datascore will miss having the benefit of Lisa's help and daily influence, but wish her well in her new job.

Todd Hamilton, of Datascore, said that maybe he would leave the company too so he could finally win in the tour finals, insinuating Lisa's ultimate success directly corresponded to her decision to move on.

Nicola Ford won the raffle drawing for the full sized dart board giveaway! Congratulations Nicola!

It was a great day of darts to wrap up another awesome tour for Datascore. Special thanks to all who participated and to Angie and Shane for hosting the finals. Thanks to Steve, Todd, Lisa and the rest of the Datascore gang for all your hard work and dedication.
