JIMMY JACKS SPORTSBAR; EVERETT, WA By Ty Hughes Jimmy Jacks hosted their monthly $1,000 Payout TRIOS Shoot on Saturday, January 12 to an eleven team field. To those of you who actually read this drivel, you should already know that it’s a TRIOS and not a Doubles as published in last month’s paper. Always question authority. Thirty three players, signed up to participate in January’s big dart tournament. So, it turned out to be a $700 Payout, just falling four teams short of the minimum. Still good money, and it was well-distributed among the winners. Vegas was sure of that since it was his tournament to run, not to mention his very own birthday! Jimmy Jacks always attracts a wide cross-section of talent from all over the Puget Sound area and tonight was no different. All of the awesome regulars were there; Tami, Robert, Todd, Renee, Mike, Tracy, Jack, Stephanie, and so on. Ann, who just had arm surgery and can’t play darts for a year, enjoyed friends Walt, Olivia and Bui showed up. Even Melissa and Danan were lookin’ their best. Danan is making a long-overdue return to the game after a two year hiatus. He got his start years ago at the Outabounz and 13th Ave Pub. Joanna, the cute bartender at Jimmy Jacks, ran around along with Jesse, taking care of everybody’s level. Del and Kelly Kahuli came out with Pat to represent the southend. Why don’t we ever see you northenders traveling south for tournaments anyway? Come on guys! Get out there, move around, keep the spirit alive! Jimmy Jack’s stage was alive with 4 Outta 5, a pretty good cover band, that rocked the house all night long. Their lead singer is a cute, blonde rocker, wailing away on her electric geee-tar. The dance floor was fully occupied and those not shooting in the dart tournament were actively engaged in the practice of party. Good times! A note to those players that complain about the bands; Jimmy Jacks owners pay a good chunk of change to keep you entertained. Give them some credit for the quality of musicians they bring in each and every weekend. Besides live entertainment, Jimmy Jacks makes killer drinks, amazing food - seeing as how it’s a full on restaurant – they also do darts. Bigtime! They’ve got a huge dart room and offer up plenty of dart-related events each month. Enjoy tournaments such as Women Only dart shoots, Kids Only dart shoots, high-rated, low-rated, upside down, right-side up… Jimmy Jacks has a tournament of some kind every single night of the week.
