Birthday shoot draws big turnout By Ty Hughes Kirkland 's Liquid Lime doesn't do anything on a small scale. When Angie celebrated her birthday on Friday, August 24th, scores of players from every neighborhood showed up to offer their condolences, I mean, congratulations. The Liquid Lime was jam-packed with dart players as well as casual and committed patrons of Kirkland 's main attraction. There were faces running around that belonged to Renton , Tacoma , Seattle , Everett , and of course, the Eastside. Angie picked a perfect weekend to host this spectacular event at her bar. On this Friday night, multitudes of dart players made their way to the Eastside for a full weekend of darts at Medalist's Summer League Finals event at the Redmond Towne Center . Promising to be a bustling weekend, the Liquid Lime invited everyone out to party at their place. With an impressive commitment to darts, featuring 10 boards lining the entire length of the interior, the Lime built a business around darts and friendships. A large percentage of valuable floor space is occupied and dedicated to darts. Build it and they will come? Uh, yeah. If you haven't been out to the Lime, darnit, what are you waiting for, man? It's big and spacious. There's lots of room to shuffle around even when they're totally packed! Shane and Angie have created a bar with many different rooms and attitudes. There's a big sunken living room in the rear with soft, leather couches, a coffee table and a big screen TV to relax in. It's like spending an evening in your own living room, except here you're waited on hand and foot. Much like your fantasy plays out in your head. They've got a gorgeous separate bar for pull tabs, with high-backed, swiveling captain's chairs a popular chill zone for many. Their bar is pretty space-age with a lit background and fully stocked. Bartenders running like crazy to keep up with the mayhem. Also, if you haven't been to the Liquid Lime, then you haven't laid your eyes on their incredibly beautiful cocktail servers. OMG people! Waste not, yet another day! The eastside's dart god and Lime's coordinator, Brian Linder, remained calm, cool and collected as it seemed upon first glance that the inmates were running the asylum. Not so. His vast experience in these situations has taught Brian how to manage a crowd of shooters without them even realizing it. Cal brought his posse out from the Pickled Onion. He had the perma-smile workin' with all the pretty ladies that night. Justin was high-fivin' dart players like crazy. I'm pretty sure he and his partner were slicing through the competition like butter. Robby and his new bride, Jackie, were thoroughly enjoying a night out for themselves. They've had a busy year together, they have. A brand new baby daughter, a wedding, and lots of lovin'. These two look so good together and happy. They compliment each other perfectly. It's always nice when you can marry your best friend a luxury most of us don't enjoy. Rob and Kim were getting wild and crazy at the back table. Okay, well it was mostly Kim, but even Rob was about as riled up as is typical for this smooth operator. These two also make a cute couple. Jack was lurking over the crowd, taking his opponents to school on the boards. Jack's been steadily rolling up in his rating and throwing some amazing darts as of late. All in the name of Angie's birthday and darts! Good times! Happy birthday Angie, from all of us at the Medallion.
