Hot Shots hold it downBy Scott KringleThese guys are sizzling hot! On Saturday, December 9, the Pickled Onion put their beloved Hot Shot Cup up for challenge to the visiting team from Cloud 9. Up from the Kent Valley , Cloud 9 brought a strong team with the likes of Sumit Jouhal, Tyler Hill, Lindsey Jolley and Rachael Hurt. The Pickled Onion team was none other than the returning champions, defenders and general hot shots, Ryan Gibbs, Frank Linsky, Stacy Gustafson and Sarah Sunde. The match got started about a half hour late due to the Harley Davidson raffle going on at Pickled Onion. “They are so loud that we want to start after the raffle,” Stacy relayed. “We did not know this was going on here today.” It was all good, and once the Harley raffle was over, the Cloud 9 team was pumped up. Tyler was yelling after his high ton shots. Pickled Onion held a slim lead of 7-5. Heading into the team 701 games, the mood for both teams was good and emotions were high. Pickled Onion was not about to allow their lead to slip away – they took the next five games in a row to make their intentions clear. Since the Pickled Onion has held onto this cup for most of 2006, they will head into the new year with the same “Can't Touch This” attitude. Hats off to Cloud 9 and their multitude of fans, they put up a good fight; but if they're going to pry this cup away from this superteam from Pickled Onion, they're going to have to come with something extra special next time. Great shooting by both teams. From Pickled Onion in Renton , I'm Scott Kringle “and that's the way the darts flew.” |
