Battle of the Sexes

Never let it be said that 13th is ordinary! The food-drive tournament in December was just the beginning of fun and unusual tournaments planned at the 13th Ave Pub in Lynnwood .

February's event will be even bigger and better! Three tournaments in one! We will start by having the women face off with the women and the guys will face off with each other. There will be payouts for each of these tournaments of course, but the big money will be when the top five teams go head to head. Once the single sex tournaments are done, first place from each side will play each other for the top prize and so on, down to the fifth place winners! All the final games will be played at the same time; lots of action and a fun day for all! This is a 17-point max tournament, so I expect to see some high-rated women out there!

Signups will start at noon, and the games will begin at 1pm sharp. I will run my tournament the same way I always do, with a soft voice and a big stick! (Just kidding, kinda.) As always, there will be fabulous food, and Wayne has promised extra crewmembers that afternoon, so the service will be excellent!

We can only take the first 16 teams on each side, so come early for brunch and get signed up before it fills up. With 16 teams, we will add $213 to each side of the tournament AND $513 to the finals! That means that with 16 teams, we will add $939 plus what the teams bring in! That will make the payout for the day WELL OVER $1,000 in cold, hard cash!

In the unlikliness that we end up with less than 16 teams, we will add 100% to whatever each side brings in and $313 to the finals. Still not too shabby, but I want to max out the payout! I expect to see players from all over the state for this one!

Also in February, we are having our first-ever $25 buy-in Texas Hold ‘Em tournament! It'll start at 3pm on February 17, and go until it's done! This is gonna be awesome, folks! Based on a 60-player turnout, the payout will be $1,500! First place alone will walk away with $750 in cash! Signups are being taken early at the bar or on the day of the event, beginning at 2pm; tourney starts at 3pm SHARP. Sixty players plus alternates (alternates taken thru first three blinds only), six tables and a huge payout! Find out just how good you are!
