LIGHTHOUSE SALOON; EVERETT, WA
Turkeys flyin’ outta the Lighthouse

By Ty Hughes

Anyone who was even the least bit associated with darts in the Everett area, oh say ten-fifteen years ago, no doubt has heard of Chuck LeMasters, a local legend. Well, his son, Rob LeMasters, has recently taken ownership of the Lighthouse Saloon at 3414 Everett Ave.

With his thick goatee, Rob helps out behind the bar gettin’ his hands dirty alongside his faithful crew of female bartenders. Their strong relationship is readily noticeable, if not obvious. Ruth, Jackie and Tamara are more than happy to help keep their friend Rob’s new bar running smoothly. The same lighthearted and casual attitude resonates with the Lighthouse clientele who are also very loyal to Rob and his new bar. Which isn’t new at all, in fact, the Lighthouse has been an important part of the Everett landscape for many years. Formerly the Gem Tavern, this location has been in the hands of dart players for a very long time. Though not big, actually quite small, the Lighthouse makes great use of the floor space available. I’d say it’s There’s no room for a pool table AND darts, so in classic LeMasters style, Rob chose to maintain a relatively successful dart program. And his friends and patrons would have it no other way. Matt Springer runs the darts and he’s loved by everybody. They’ve got three Medalist boards set atop newly rebuilt and level floor with brand new carpeting.

The Lighthouse hosted a Turkey Shoot on Saturday, November 17 which drew around seven teams, making for a seemingly full bar. But Lance, a Lighthouse regular, was quick to point out that they’ve had lots more people in here throwing darts before.

That’s the thing about this place, most of the players, including Matt, have a long history of memories made in this bar. It’s almost like once you’ve tried the Lighthouse, you’re most likely in the circle forever. Isn’t that what we all search for in a home location? A comfortable place where we feel like we’re surrounded by great friends and genuine laughter? That is precisely what you’ll find at the Lighthouse Saloon.

As for the dart shoot, Matt kept it going at a good pace. Rob added 100% being they were one team short of the advertised $200 Added with eight teams. But the winners would also receive turkeys for this special shoot. In 3rd Place it was Bui and Wayne, who got a couple of smaller turkeys each and $20 cash.

Then in the final match, Cruz and Tony went after James and Lance, who were sitting patiently in the Driver’s Seat. This was a dramatic finish to the day’s tourney, when all four shooters were on their best games, trading excellent darts back and forth. James was absolutely on fire helping his partner, Lance, to a victory.

Each of these four received large turkeys to take home, plus a bit of spending money. Way to go, guys!

Matt and Rob and the girls welcome you out for a relaxing day of darts and friendly interaction. Keep your eyes on the Medallion. Earmark the page with Lighthouse Saloon’s ad and plan on coming out for their December shootout which promises to be even bigger and better!
