R Bar invites lower-rated players to compete
By Ty Hughes
Okay, so the rating-challenged converged on the R Bar last month on St. Patrick’s Day en masse!
Jesse is one of those tournament directors that runs his tournaments quick and painlessly, “… guaranteed to get you outta there before closing time,” according to a certain accomplished dart player in our midst. This is a reputation that Jesse has been working toward and embraces.
I decided that his necklace was originally meant to be a belt buckle, but Jesse swears he has no problem getting in and out of bed with that honkin’ thing around his neck.
Bruce and Lisa Johnson were out for the night. Lisa was celebrating her upcoming birthday, March 29th. Happy birthday, Lisa, from the Medallion!
It seems that everybody is keen to the whole R Bar phenomenon. On St. Patty’s Day, Jesse had no problem filling a 32-team chart. In fact, he actually had to turn away teams! Been awhile since we’ve heard of this happening, eh?
After a crazy night of elimination, these were the victors:
1st and 2nd Place Split: Jason and Rob vs. Joe and Dave; $690
3rd Place: Mark and Pat; $180
4th Place: Karen and JJ; $120
5th Place: Jerry and Codi; $40
5th Place: Bruce and Tony; $40
R Bar paid out $1,070 that night, and thanks everyone who came out for a good time. Bridget, Tracy, Jerry, Codi, Leonard and Trina, Gene-o and Mark were in da house!
This place just gets absolutely packed with fun-seekers on a regular basis. They’ve got a $500 gtd. added every Friday night that is the talk of the town, their signature 7 & Under Shootout every third weekend, plus occasional $1,000 gtd. added Trios shoots.
Check out the R Bar in Renton for good people and great darts!
