Keeping the fires burning

By Ty Hughes

Saturday, March 10 was just another day at the office for Mike Markezinis, owner of the storied Jimmy Jacks Sports Bar, situated on the cusp of Lynnwood and Everett, off Highway 99.
On this day, like any other, Mike and his fantastic entourage of multiple dart coordinators, prepped for a long day of darts. They would be testing a new and different concept pertaining to the money added portion of this tournament. Instead of a set dollar amount added, based on however many teams, they would simply add $30 for each and every team playing.
Basically, it turns out to be 300% added, which ultimately dawned on Mike, and quickly the idea was scrapped as he envisioned himself sitting on the sidewalk, wrapped in old blankets, holding a tin cup. Still though, Mike, in his infinite wisdom, offered up a $500 guaranteed and everyone was joyous!
As it was, they signed up a crap-load of teams yes, there is such a thing! It was also In-House Finals weekend, which was to be held right here, starting early the very next day! Most players, it seemed, were warming up for bigger matches to come.
Sluggers contingency was in da house! They realized they didnt have enough players by themselves, so they set out on a quest for like-minded people in the mood to play some friggin darts, man! They found what they were searching for right here at Jimmy Jacks. Its always good to recognize when the human beings paradigm is shifted. Who moved their cheese? Lucky for you, they always adapt and overcome. Am I rambling?
They didnt have the live music on stage this time, unfortunately. I always look forward to going to Jimmy Jacks for the killer music, right next to the whole dart area. Of course, Im a child of the sixties and seventies (I know!), and loud music is my preference. Whats that you said?
But, fortunately for all of us, Jesse was behind the bar! And we all know how awesome he takes care of the dart players, for he is but one himself. The service at Jimmy Jacks is always A#1, as they cruise the alley of players, actively searching out those empties. Since they have an entire daylight restaurant in the same building, they provide some awesome grub too! Take a stab at some of their amazing pies, literally. WOW!
Jimmy Jacks is filled with familiar faces, new and old. Each of them have an amazing story to tell. People are fascinating, arent they? Stop in and say hello to Jesse, Mike, Debbie, Todd, Kim, Tami and the whole bunch at Jimmy Jacks. Make some new friends. I challenge everybody reading this to make at least one new friend this week. Ill expect a full report.
See Jimmy Jacks ad for all the gruesome details about their upcoming dart slaughters. Theyd really enjoy seeing your face Im certain of it.
