O'Henry's dominates cups

Player’s Cup

O’Henry’s Player’s Cup team, Steve, Kelly, Rob and Rich are unbeatable. Or, are they? So far, they’ve been able to run circles around their opponents, no matter where they came from. After holding the cup for almost a full year, they slipped one day, losing the cup to a Northend team only to wait their turn and regain the cup at the very next opportunity.
Since that time, O’Henry’s team, formerly BBQ Pete’s team, has steamrolled their opponents one by one and show no signs of letting up.
On Saturday, September 17th, Cloud 9 strolled into Puyallup’s newest dart house to take a run at the Player’s Cup themselves. They were; Mac, Mike, Tim and Doug.
Everyone was in good spirits and enjoying a relaxed afternoon as O’Henry’s took off to a quick 9-2 lead. Suddenly it was 15-3 and Cloud 9 had lost all hope of coming back and it was obvious in their demeanor. They took it all in stride, refusing to allow this deficit to ruin their afternoon.
Steve was not shooting his best darts and was getting a ribbing from his teammates before he stepped up and tossed a Hi Ton to take out the game and they all breathed a sigh of relief. Kelly’s wedding rings were so huge, we all teased her about them acting as a counterbalance to certain top-end body parts.
Mike Hobbs was playing for Cloud 9 as a replacement to Anthony “Adot” Dotson due to a cortisone shot in his finger. Rich Sutton replaced Del Kahuli, on the O’Henry’s team, who had rolled up in his rating and was no longer eligible to play, so he kept score.
The mood was light despite the landslide and after the final dart was thrown officially sealing the deal for O’Henry’s, congratulatory shots were passed around and the two teams toasted a fine day’s work, or not.
McMurphy’s is due to pay a visit to O’Henry’s in October hoping to loosen the champions’ grip on the Player’s Cup. Watch the Medallion for details.

Mixed Limited Cup

By Scott Kringle

The team of Adam Fisher, Traci Lamb-Ewing, Eric Marshall and Michelle Brower from GT’s South, took the long ride to Puyallup on Saturday the 10th to play O’Henry’s Sports Bar team for the Mixed Limited Cup.
O’Henry’s team consisted of Denny Bruley, Tori Rillera, Pat Farrell and Trish King. Trish walked in wearing her very wet softball clothes. They were so wet that she had to go next door to the local K-Mart and buy something to change into (Sorry Trish, it had to be known).
Like every other, it was a race to 17 games and right from the start, O’Henry’s took the first four games. Tori, rated a 4, brought her big darts out for the shoot. At times, she hit Low Tons like they were going out of style and by the time the 10th game was over, O’Henry’s held a 10-2 lead. They were feeling very confident in the way the day was going. However, once Traci asked for some “love taps” from the crowd and started chanting, “Never say die,” the score ran in favor of GT’s.
With 19 games in the books, O’Henry’s was holding onto a slim three game lead. On the TV’s throughout the bar, college football games played out and the O’Henry’s staff, Eric Pruitt, Delicia Heard, and Ronnie Roston, kept the drinks flowing and the food coming out nice and hot.
The match soon became O’Henry’s to take. By the time the 24th game rolled around, it was a 15-9 lead for the cup defenders. Within minutes, the match was over and a 17-9 victory went to O’Henry’s. Great shooting everybody! Nice job by all and thanks to O’Henry’s for hosting a great event. The next challenger of the Mixed Limited Cup is Just Left out of Lynnwood.
From Puyallup, Washington, I’m Scott Kringle and that’s the way the darts flew.
